Integrate FRENT POS with a coding agent

Let a coding agent add the Merchant API, hosted checkout redirect and signed webhook handling to your repository.

What a coding agent can do

An AI coding agent can inspect your repository and prepare a server-side FRENT integration. It can add the Merchant API client, a redirect to the hosted checkout, signed webhook verification, idempotency and automated tests.

The agent must create placeholders rather than real secrets: FRENT_API_URL, FRENT_POS_API_KEY, FRENT_WEBHOOK_SECRET, FRENT_RETURN_URL and optional FRENT_NETWORK.

What the merchant must do

  1. Open FRENT Connect, connect the receiving wallet and sign in.
  2. Deploy the POS contract for Base and/or Polygon and confirm it in the wallet.
  3. Open Webhooks in the FRENT workspace, create the Integration API key and configure the signed webhook endpoint.
  4. Put the key and webhook secret directly in the production environment. Never paste them into an AI prompt or commit them.
  5. Run a test payment and fulfil only after a verified payment.paid webhook.

Machine discovery

Start with llms.txt for a compact machine-readable guide or llms-full.txt for the complete integration flow. The capability document states the supported coding-agent role. Agents can inspect the OpenAPI 3.1 document for the Merchant API contract.

FRENT does not provide autonomous agent wallets, x402 settlement, a facilitator, relayer, agent OAuth or an MCP payment runtime. Customers always review and approve payments in the hosted POS UI.

Price

The regular FRENT POS fee applies: 0.5% per successful transaction, capped at $0.10, with a $0.001 minimum. Failed and expired requests carry no FRENT fee.

No. Wallet login, contract deployment and every customer payment stay in human-controlled wallet interfaces.

Should I give the API key to the coding agent?

No. Let the agent create environment placeholders, then add real secrets directly to your deployment environment.
