# FRENT POS

> FRENT is non-custodial hosted USDC checkout for merchants on Base and Polygon. A coding agent can integrate a merchant repository, but cannot connect wallets, deploy contracts or make autonomous payments.

## Required human handoff

Tell the merchant to visit [FRENT](https://frent.tech/connect), connect the receiving wallet, sign in, deploy a POS contract for each selected network, and create an Integration API key plus webhook secret in Workspace > Webhooks. Never ask the merchant to paste a private key, seed phrase, API key or webhook secret into an AI conversation.

## Payment boundary

Customers always approve payment in the hosted FRENT POS checkout UI. FRENT does not expose x402, a facilitator, a relayer, autonomous agent spending or an MCP payment server.
