KNOWLEDGE BASE / PAYMENTS AND SETTLEMENT

How merchant settlement works

The terminal contract transfers the merchant share directly to the configured receiving wallet.

Updated

Direct onchain settlement

The customer approves the terminal transaction from their wallet. The terminal transfers the fixed FRENT fee to the configured fee wallet and the net merchant share directly to the immutable merchant wallet.

There is no FRENT merchant balance, payout schedule or custody period. The USDC is visible in the receiving wallet after the network confirms the transaction.

Records retained by FRENT

After verification, FRENT records the payment as paid with the payer wallet, transaction hash, block number and timestamps. The merchant and customer can follow the explorer link for independent onchain evidence.

After settlement

FRENT does not convert USDC to fiat, send funds to a bank or manage refunds. Treasury transfers and any refund policy remain the merchant's responsibility. Confirmed blockchain transfers cannot be reversed by FRENT.

Article FAQ

Common questions.

When does FRENT pay out the merchant?

There is no later payout. The merchant share is sent directly in the customer transaction.

Can FRENT reverse a confirmed payment?

No. The merchant must handle any refund as a separate transfer under its own policy.
