What the fee covers
One split inside the customer transaction.
The terminal contract sends the fixed protocol fee to the FRENT fee wallet and the remainder directly to the merchant wallet. FRENT does not hold a merchant balance for later payout.
Network costs
Gas is not included in the FRENT fee.
The merchant pays network gas when deploying a terminal. The payer pays the native network gas required for token approval and payment. Gas varies by network activity and is not set by FRENT.
Operational boundary
Received USDC stays onchain.
FRENT does not convert USDC to fiat, provide banking settlement or manage refunds. Merchants remain responsible for their wallet and any later treasury or refund process.
Predictable protocol fee
A fixed fee for each confirmed payment.

Does FRENT charge for failed or expired requests?
The protocol fee is transferred by the terminal contract as part of a successful onchain payment. Creating or expiring a request does not itself move USDC.
