Two QR paths
FRENT has two distinct QR uses:
- A payment request QR opens one signed checkout with a fixed amount, network-specific request and expiry.
- A counter QR opens the merchant's public payment form, where the customer can enter an amount and choose from enabled merchant networks.
Customer flow
The customer scans the QR, reviews the merchant, amount and selected network, connects a compatible wallet, approves USDC if required and submits the payment. The customer needs native currency for gas in addition to USDC.
Do not treat a wallet success message alone as proof. FRENT verifies the confirmed transaction before changing the request to paid.
Sharing links
The request checkout and status URLs are signed. Share the complete URL or QR without removing query parameters. The counter QR is reusable while the public merchant form remains enabled.
For what FRENT validates after the wallet submits, see How FRENT verifies an onchain payment.

Article FAQ
Common questions.
Does scanning a QR send funds immediately?
No. The QR opens the checkout. The customer still reviews and approves the transaction in their wallet.
Is the counter QR tied to one amount?
No. It opens the enabled merchant payment form. A request QR is tied to one specific payment.
Need product support?
Bring the public details, never your keys.
