What the wallet does
FRENT uses an EVM wallet for two separate actions: signing a login message and approving onchain transactions. The login signature does not move funds and does not cost gas. Contract deployment and customer payments are transactions and do require network gas.
Connect safely
- Open FRENT POS.
- Select the wallet connection control.
- Check that the domain is the expected FRENT domain.
- Review and sign the login message. It identifies the domain, wallet, nonce and issue time.
- Switch to Base or Polygon only when the interface asks you to deploy or pay on that network.
FRENT never asks you to paste a private key or seed phrase. Reject any request that does.
Merchant and customer wallets
The merchant connects the wallet that owns the terminal and receives settlement. A customer connects their own compatible wallet at checkout. The two sessions are separate, and a customer does not need a FRENT account or email address.
