KNOWLEDGE BASE / NETWORKS AND FEES

Choosing Base or Polygon

Choose a supported network based on the merchant terminal, customer funds and available gas asset.

Updated

Both are separate payment paths

Base and Polygon do not share a terminal contract or wallet balance. A merchant enables each network separately, and a customer selects only from that merchant's active terminals.

Check the customer wallet

Choose the network where the customer already holds the supported native USDC and enough native currency for gas. Base requires ETH; Polygon requires POL. FRENT does not bridge assets between networks.

Confirm before approval

The wallet network must match the request network. Review the chain name and identifier in the wallet before approving. Production uses Base chain ID 8453 and Polygon PoS chain ID 137.

Merchant settlement goes to the immutable wallet configured in that network's terminal. If both terminals use the same wallet address, the resulting balances are still separate by chain.
